3D Printing Was Secretly Killed In Congress !
That is a title of a movie from internet (I won't link to that movie). I think is specifically targeted to regarding printing parts of an weapon. Anyway, I saw how The Guardian is presenting the 3d Printer in the Wikipedia page of Adrian Bowyer, the inventor of RepRap:
... has been called the invention that will bring down global capitalism, start a second industrial revolution and save the environment...
This is simply a stupidity! I see RepRap as a tool for creativity and inventiveness in Schools, High Schools and Universities. It can be a tool for an individual that starts a company around a product of which prototype was created using also a 3D Printer. Which printer, can be used in production, of course. If you have the required capital because you can't print something from nothing. Period.
But this means mainly commerce, and this is the soul of a Capitalist society. It is also the soul of every family. If some American authorities got scared by the concept, I truly think is because of some whispers coming from some corporations that don't like this to be available to anyone. And we know what big, powerful corporations (that think are beyond the reach of the law) can do to the Free America and Christian America.
We hate communism!
BTW, the so called "self replication" attribute of the 3D Printer is just false advertising as in reality it does not work. If you don't have money for the mechanical, electronic parts and the Extruder head, you will not be able to build a second printer just from the printed parts - you will get it cheaper, but impossible to get it without buying those parts. Also, nothing is printed if there is nobody to sell filament. So, you see how law institutions can be tricked in presenting this as a threat to freedom.
